Traveling in Thailand, Cambodia or Malaysia can be done in many different ways, some like the divine many star elegance and others are happy with nature, a bed in a dormitory and no hot water, I prefer the latter. I also prefer taking buses and boats whenever possible and my partner will always fly if it’s an option, she just wants to get there and I prefer adventure all the way baby. The great news is, whatever and wherever you desire, it’s available!
One can travel by air for around $100 to most any city in country or use buses and ferries instead. The latter is always the low cost option and comes with lots of adventure as you’re never 100% sure how it will all work out. Often times you have to take a bus, then an open air bus to another bus, then a ferry – there are always so many at a dock at any given time. The Thais, Malaysians and Cambodians have got it down, buses and boats are almost always on time. Even if their English isn’t the best they always they make an effort and I applaud the them for this and their sweet and kind demeanor.
