Here at FMP we strongly feel compelled to support women and girls around the world because we know women are the backbone of community. As a community grows and heals so does its people. We were taught by our parents and have taught our children similarly.
By partnering and supporting non-profits we believe we are making a difference in the world, a main goal when we started FMP. We pledge to give back to communities. We feel that in giving we get back ten fold.
"No one need wait a single moment to improve the world"
- Anne Frank
Finding My Place loves supporting women and girls in the countries where we travel. We've developed relationships for giving and do so regularly. Some of the organizations we support include:
Dining for Women, global "Changing the world one dinner at a time." Dining for Women is a global giving circle that funds grassroots projects working in developing countries to fight gender inequality. Dining for Women celebrates the power of the individual to see an injustice and act to change it; to see need and act to fill it. Dining for Women’s members are deeply involved in the grantees we support and the problems we seek to address. Our education component is equally as important as our fundraising.
Feeding Dreams, Siem Reap, Cambodia "No Child Should Attend School Hungry." - Feeding Dreams is a Cambodia charity and a grass roots community school providing Free education, school meals and community support to over 800 poor children and families living in Siem Reap's slums. We strive to keep families united, fight poverty, illiteracy and malnutrition, and help grow tomorrow's community leaders.
Rising International, global "Empowering Women Locally and Globally to Rise Out of Extreme Poverty" At Rising International we spread hope and dignity by selling crafts made by women living in the poorest and most dangerous places in the world; Places where hope is a radical act, and creating beauty is an act of courage and inspiration. Crafts are sold at intimate gatherings in the U.S., often referred to as home parties.

Now our dream has grown to include two additional reading rooms, regular book deliveries to local and rural schools, mobile libraries, reading in the park and many other book-related activities.
Sisters On Samui (SOS), Koh Samui, Thailand "Women who meet for lunch to network and help with charity organizations on Koh Samui" The Sisters on Samui is not a religious sect but a group of international ladies who either live on Koh Samui or who are just visiting. The main objective of the SOS is to meet once a month for lunch in convivial surroundings, enabling members to meet in friendship and to welcome any new arrivals. To become a member, there are no complex forms to complete or initiation ceremonies - just turn up and introduce yourself. The only proviso is that you were "born a woman"!
